1. Action Plan Through this Scheme, the aspiring entrepreneur explained about various scheme and activities of the department and benefit available to them.
2. Training Inside and Outside The basic purpose of the Scheme is to provide training to the deserving young boys/girls to develop their skills by imparting training in Government Institute as well as private Institute. In Government saw Mill Cum Mechanised Carpentry workshop, Umsning is the main training Centre to provide training in Furniture making with a monthly stipend of Rs. 350/- per month subject to good conduct and regular attendance.
3. Mastercraftman The main aim of this Scheme is to provide training to the local boys by expert in the particular trade. They are also getting stipend of rs. 350/- per month for a year.
4. Exhibition Basically the Exhibition is held to provide opportunity to expose local entrepreneur and their products to the local people. In the meantime, the exposure will provide opportunity for marketing their products through various agents.

5.

Grant in Aid This particular Scheme has been provided to incentive to the passed out training as a part of follow up action.

6.

Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana This is a Centrally sponsored Scheme to provide financial help to the deserving educated unemployed young boys/girls for self employment.

7.

  During the past few years, Government of Meghalaya has framed a new Industrial Policy to keep pace for Industrial Development so as to generate employment opportunities for the local people in the industrial and allied sector.

 Animal Husbandry & Veterinary

The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department is interested with the responsibility of all aspect of Livestock and Poultry Development.eg.Production and Marketing of Livestock and Livestock Products through augmentation of production of milk, meat and eggs, animal health care and prevention of animal diseases, creation of suitable infrastructure for Breeding and Management of Livestock, Processing  and marketing of milk. Besides providing the required training and extension support to  livestock producers so as to promote scientific rearing of livestock and poultry amongst them and generate employment avenues in the rural areas.

 The Ri Bhoi District is endowed with abundant natural re-sources which are favorable for rearing of livestock and thereby providing good scope for subsidiary occupation. Beside the dietary habit of the people being non vegetarian offers ready market for livestock and poultry product.
